Battle of Badr
Waqia (Event):
The Battle of Badr occurred in 624 CE, where a small Muslim army of around 313 fighters, led by Prophet Muhammad, faced a larger Meccan force of about 1000 warriors. Despite being outnumbered and less equipped, the Muslims achieved a decisive victory.
Quranic Reference:
In Surah Aal-E-Imran, Chapter 3, Verses 123-124, Allah says:
وَلَقَدْ نَصَرَكُمُ اللَّهُ بِبَدْرٍ وَأَنتُمْ أَذِلَّةٌ ۖ فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ إِذْ تَقُولُ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَلَن يَكْفِيَكُمْ أَن يُمِدَّكُمْ رَبُّكُم بِثَلَاثَةِ آلَافٍ مِّنَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ مُنزَلِينَ
Translation: "And Allah had certainly aided you at Badr while you were weak. So fear Allah that you may be grateful. [Remember] when you said to the believers, 'Is it not sufficient for you that your Lord should reinforce you with three thousand angels sent down?'"
Hadith:
Prophet Muhammad said, "The example of Badr is like the clouds giving shade to the people; when it passes over them, it leaves them, and when it comes to them, it pours the rain on them." (Bukhari)
